COEN's August Community of Practice Meeting
Wednesday, August 29th, 5:30-7:30 PM
Spark Policy Institute (2717 Welton St, Denver, CO 80205)
Topic: Using Network Analysis to Address Complex Challenges
Facilitator: Joby Schaffer (Spark Policy Institute)
These meetings are informal, with a specific topic, facilitator, and practice-building purpose to guide discussion. They are intended to let you share with and learn from your colleagues and grow in the profession.
From 5:30 to 6:00 we will gather and introduce ourselves.
At 6:00 we'll start our program: Using Network Analysis to Address Complex Challenges
Many if not most initiatives that aim to address “wicked” problems like homelessness or infant mortality focus on building and strengthening the relationships among organizations working on various parts of the problem. Evaluators can add value by helping initiatives understand the progress of their relationship building efforts using network analysis, including network visualization, statistics, and qualitative description. In this community of practice, researchers from Spark Policy Institute will facilitate a discussion on approaches to network analysis, including the frameworks to use with clients to understand network strategy and outcomes, how to gather and analyze network data (quant and qual), and how to present and facilitate discussions about network findings.
This session is appropriate for everyone! Please bring your questions and insights to share from your own evaluation experience. Also bring a colleague!
We'll be mixing it up in terms of venues and types of Community of Practice events, so keep an eye on our announcements. Would you like to facilitate a future meeting? Reach out to us with your idea at Colo.Eval.Network@gmail.com and let's chat.
