March Community of Practice: Communicating the Value of Evaluation

  • 28 Mar 2019
  • 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Panera (640 S Colorado Blvd, Glendale, CO 80246, USA)

These meetings are informal, with a specific topic, facilitator, and practice--building purpose to guide discussion. They are intended to let you share and learn from your colleagues and grow in the profession.

From 5:30 to 6:00, we will gather and introduce ourselves.

At 6:00 we’ll start our program: Communicating the Value of Evaluation

How often have you said you are a program evaluator and been met with blank stares? Or you talk to your favorite nonprofit about why evaluation is so important and they still decide it’s not for them? There are so many misconceptions out there about what evaluation is and baggage around evaluation. Effectively communicating the power and value of evaluation is a skill in and of itself. During this Community of Practice, we will share tips and tricks for communicating with clients, potential clients, and others about evaluation, hone our elevator speeches, and practice conversations with clients and potential clients. Come prepared with your elevator speech (approximately 30 seconds) to practice!

Facilitator: Laura Sundstrom, Vantage Evaluation
