Please join us on Wednesday, June 26th for our monthly COEN Community of Practice meeting. These meetings are informal, like the socials we used to have, but with a specific topic, facilitator, and practice-building purpose to guide discussion. They are intended to let you share with and learn from your colleagues and grow in the profession.
From 5:30 to 6:00 we will gather, introduce ourselves, and get coffee or dinner at the counter if you wish.
At 6:00 we'll start our informal discussion: Diversifying the Evaluation Pipeline, with Sandra Silva from Change Matrix faciliating.
Evaluators from historically underrepresented communities of color and Native communities can shift how data are collected and used. Diverse evaluators can ask questions, employ methods, analyze and interpret data in ways that benefit and inspire the communities they serve. How can we build capacity and strengthen opportunities for diverse evaluators to engage in practices like culturally-responsive and equitable evaluation? We’ll offer COEN members the opportunity to share their successes and challenges around hiring and retaining diverse evaluators. Change Matrix will also share our work on Expanding the Bench, which is supporting and training diverse evaluators as well as promoting the practice of culturally responsive and equitable evaluation.
About the location: The Evaluation Center does not serve food. But feel free to grab some dinner nearby and bring it with you! The Evaluation Center is also conveniently located off of the D, F, and H RTD lines.
The Community of Practice will be held in the Conference Center on the first floor (follow signs when you arrive). The building is open to the public until 6pm. If you arrive after 6pm, please enter the building at 18th and Curtis. There is a call button and security can buzz you in.
