Power dynamics influence all parts of evaluation. Yet, as evaluators, we rarely spend significant time examining what those power dynamics are, how they affect the evaluation, and how we can work to balance any power differentials.
In this discussion-based Community of Practice, Laura Sundstrom of Illuminary Perspectives will share a few models or understandings of power before moving into discussions about how power affects evaluation. We will specifically focus on power dynamics within an evaluation project and power dynamics within a community or system that is engaging with evaluation.
