About the Session: Interactive dashboards that connect to live databases can be an asset to many monitoring and evaluation projects. And a massive number of dashboarding technologies exist - but many require meaningful upfront investments in software fees, technological infrastructure, and training to use.

One notable exception is Google Data Studio (also known as Lookr Data Studio). This is one of only a few ‘entry level’ dashboarding tools, and is mostly free. This makes it a perfect tool to create a proof-of-concept dashboard that can help your team or project understand whether an investment in a more robust solution makes sense.

In this 75-minute interactive session we will recap the core features of Google Data Studio and discuss its positioning among similar tools for data visualization. We will explore the Google Data Studio user interface and the various features available for creating and customizing reports. Then we will invite participants to connect to a data source and create a basic dashboard of their own, to become familiar with some of the platform’s core features.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a basic understanding of Google Data Studio and be able to create simple reports and dashboards. This workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to learn how to use Google Data Studio for data analysis and visualization

Intended Audience: This may be new to field/early career, 5-10 years experience, and seasoned evaluators. All levels of experience are welcome!
