Transforming Systems, Elevating Voices: A Case Study in Equitable Home Visiting Data Collection
Session description:
Our presentation focuses on the critical need to advance equity in data collection for home visiting programs. We draw from our hands-on experience in two Oregon Public Health Nurse Home Visiting programs to demonstrate a transformative approach to collecting program data. This shift from a biased methodology to one grounded in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) principles provides key insights into systemic challenges affecting family health.
We offer attendees actionable strategies and practical lessons for immediate implementation in their own programs for providing more equitable service delivery to ensure all families receive the supports they deserve. This session is a must-attend for those committed to creating meaningful systemic change.
Target audience:
This session is suited for both program administrators and advocates in the home visiting field who want to drive systemic change through equitable data collection methods. The content will be particularly impactful for administrators who have the authority to influence program design and implementation, offering them innovative and community-centered approaches to integrate Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) principles into data collection practices.
